We have been testing out some @pennfishing reels with our @shimano jogging rods and have been very pleased with the results and have great feedback from our clients that have fished with them.

It was a slow day of fishing, but the weather was hard to beat and we ended on a high note with a 100lb halibut! It’s way too warm out for me when we have Hawaiians going shirtless and still sweating!

The thing that’s remarkable about today was Mr. Dave Currie’s ability to call out his octopus catch Babe Ruth style. I’ve seen a lot of things, but that was impressive. He also likes to eat dogfish and I’m good with that as there are plenty this year.

There’s great days, there’s days you have to work a bit harder for it. There’s days you can’t believe how lucky you are to be doing what you’re doing, followed by moments where you wonder if you need to get your head professionally examined and your ocean addiction fully exorcised (usually happens after a week or so of sideways driving rain and wind). Then there’s the days that decide to throw a combo of EVERYTHING your way at once! Lots of thinking on the fly, changing to meet conditions and just making it work. Yep, fishing for a living. It’s not for the faint of heart!
